GWO Blade Repair is the first wind turbine blade repair training in the world, created by teams of specialists from the largest manufacturers such as Vestas, Siemens, Nordex, GE.

The delegates are able to do repair work in accordance with a work instruction within the following dimensions:

  • Trailing edge repairs up to 1.5m
  • Leading edge repairs up to 1.5m
  • Laminate repairs down to core material
  • Core material replacement up to 200cm²
  • Surface repair to paint and gelcoat

Working at Heights

GWO Working at Heights is a basic training on working at height in a wind turbine environment. The classes concern both protection against falling from height and safe evacuation from a turbine. The program is divided into theoretical and practical classes. The theoretical part consists of classes in the lecture hall and practical simulation of real situations in which the student learns the correct use of personal protective equipment (lanyards, harnesses, helmets, etc.). The training standards focus primarily on maintaining safety rules.

The training is a renewal of the Working at Heights course, which is valid for 2 years.

The Working at Heights training is part of the Basic Safety Training package and includes:

- legal basis,
- vertical belaying systems issues,
- discussion of systems to prevent falls from a height,
- determination position at work,
- a broad description of the security and belay systems,
- simulation of real events,
- description of personal protective equipment,
- operating rescue equipment,
- rescue exercises.

First Aid

Training duration: 2 day

GWO First Aid Refresher is a basic first aid training for wind turbine technicians. The classes contain information on the basic principles of first aid in life threatening situations. The course will address issues related to the basics of human anatomy. The module program includes extensive knowledge that determines survival. The theoretical part consists of classes in the lecture hall, and practical simulations of real events, in which the student will develop habits to facilitate the rescue action in a stressful situation. The actions presented during the classes are supported by current safety procedures.

The First Aid training is part of the Basic Safety Training package and includes:

- Legal aspects of first aid,
- the basis of human anatomy,
- acting in an accident,
- providing first aid,
- operating an AED defibrillator,
- simulation of real events.

Fire Awareness

GWO Fire Awareness Refresher is a training course on fire protection in wind turbine environments. The classes include information on the principles of fire protection, fire prevention, the use of fire fighting equipment during a fire and extreme situations. The theoretical part consists of classes in the lecture hall and practical simulations of real events in which the delegates will develop appropriate habits. The priority of Fire Awareness training is high safety standards and broadening the delegates awareness of fire.

The training is a refresh of Fire Awareness course, which is valid for 2 years.

The GWO Manual Handling Refresher is a training on how to safely transport objects by hand using your body. The classes include information on transportation work and how to prevent hazardous situations. After completing the Manual Handling course, delegates will learn how to safely lift and carry items of varying sizes. They will also learn how to evacuate the danger zone.

The training is a refresher of the Manual Handling course, which is valid for 2 years.

Manual Handling is part of the Basic Safety Training package and includes:

The purpose of creating the BTT electric module is to instruct students to perform basic tasks under the supervision of an experienced technician.

The Mechanical Training is part of the Basic Technical Training package and includes:

Chester Step 

   Chester Step Test (CST) is a workout that measures the maximum oxygen uptake during an aerobic effort. This course determines the delegate's physical condition, his capacity and tests the endurance of the cardiopulmonary system at different stages of exercise intensity. The Chester Step course consists of making a series of platform entries, taking place at an increasing pace and testing all parameters between the successive stages of exercise. The training will allow to check the physical abilities of the students, which is important when working in a wind turbine environment and more.

After the CST examination, the delegates will get the results from which they will learn:

  • what is his current level of fitness,
  • what kind of physical activity to take, in order to increase efficiency,
  • what his potential health problems are,

The GWO Blade Repair Gap Training is a unification of competences of wind turbine technicians with professional experience in the RES sector. The "Gap" training is aimed at people who want to gain Blade Repair qualifications, thus having completed similar training related to the repair of wind turbine blades, e.g. Siemens Gamesa, Vestas, Blade B. The knowledge passed on during the classes will supplement the students' knowledge, thus omitting elements that are already known to them. During the course the delegates will be subjected to preliminary tests which will determine the level of their knowledge and skills related to the nature of work on wind turbines. The Blade Repair Gap Training program is similar to the Blade Repair Training. The analysis of the test results serves to optimize the training program and provide the participants with a personal approach.

Elements of the Blade Repair Gap Training:
